The Project was born with an agreement between the Colombian Ministry of Information Technologies & Communications and the ITU, and it’s goal is the realization of studies, analysis and proposals leaded to get a diagnosis and an update of the Sound Broadcasting National Technical Plans in Colombia, as well as define technological strategies for new AM and FM broadcasting services for the coming years.

The first Technical Forum of Sound Broadcasting took place on December the 5th , 2017 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bogotá. At this event, the different ITU experts detailed the evolution of the project and analyzed about the criteria to establish a new Spectrum Management Model for Sound Broadcasting services, and the possibility of reaching the digital broadcasting or innovate to a hybrid radio framed on the digital economy.
