The Port of Algeciras Bay Authority (APBA) has granted the implementation of the SACR (Radio Communication Advanced System) to the Temporary Business Association formed by APTICA, Telefónica Móviles and Técnicas Competitivas.

The implementation includes the design, development, supply, installation and start-up process of a private mobile communication network based on a Huawei’s LTE network. After the start-up process, the project will continue offering operation support, supervision 24/7 and maintenance for four years, with the possibility of extension for another 2 additional years.

APTICA will be responsible for Project Management and coordination, configuration, start-up and build-up of the new private SACR network along with the manufacturer. SACR is integrated in the innovation strategy BrainPort2020 of APBA and it will allow the personnel to provide, among other things, enough capacity to carry out actions in an efficient way regarding cooperative coordination, protection and port control. All these actions are possible thanks to the voice and data communications, and internet access provided by LTE technology.
