This is a high-performance propagation model developed by Orange and marketed by Aptica together with XIRIO ONLINE. The model combines theory and statistic to obtain most accurate results for your radio simulations and forecast.
SYNAPSE is suitable for a wide range of projects, such as marketing coverage calculations, dimensioning and designing new networks, and fine antenna parameter tuning. It offers multi-system compatibility (4G, 5G SA, etc.) and integration with all types of network cells, from micro to macro, in dense urban, urban, suburban, or rural environments. Its versatility makes it the perfect solution for radio planning in all scenarios and technologies operating from 700 MHz to 60 GHz.
Orange’s 25 years of research and collaboration have shaped SYNAPSE into a highly precise propagation model. By integrating key phenomena like diffraction, reflections, and guided propagation, it ensures accuracy across all environments and up to microwave bands. Its pre-calibration, based on CW measurements conducted by Orange’s experts, allows for immediate use.
Coverage estimations are further refined by accounting for vegetation density, outdoor-to-indoor penetration, rain impact, and atmospheric absorption. Other enhancements, such as Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) features, and maritime optimization, provide even greater adaptability for diverse deployments and optimizations.
The propagation model is continually evolving, and we are considering the integration of artificial intelligence and crowdsourced data to calibrate it with massive data sources. This research aims to account for various environments and time periods (seasons, peak hours, etc.), which could significantly enhance the model’s adaptability and accuracy in real-world scenarios
SYNAPSE is fully integrated with XIRIO ONLINE, offering flexible access through all available licensing models, including pay-per-use, flat rate, and corporate deployment (XIRIO CORP).
