Description

Aptica has developed, together with Nokia, Telefónica, Fivecomm, Opossum and academic centres such as the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Malaga, the UNICO SECTORIAL 5G 2022 (5GNaCAR) project, which has created innovative technological solutions for the optimisation and real-time monitoring of 5G networks. This project has enabled the validation of critical applications in sectors such as agriculture, education and port management through advanced immersive demonstrators and digital twins.

The main objective of the 5GNaCAR project is to deploy private 5G networks in various real-world scenarios such as universities, rural and port environments, evaluating advanced technologies such as Network Slicing, dynamic APIs, and monitoring solutions using augmented reality and digital twins. The main scenarios where it has been developed include the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the Port of Valencia, the University of Malaga (UMA), La Mayora, Nokia's headquarters in Madrid, and vineyards in Matanza de Soria and Zamadueñas.

Aptica's specific participation in 5GNaCAR has consisted of generating various radioelectric simulation studies to evaluate signal quality and expected coverage in different areas, accompanied by measurement campaigns and the development of an optimiser for the correct deployment of these 5G networks, which allows the evaluation of different candidates in the environment and proposes the most optimal solution.

The scenarios deployed in 5GNaCAR demonstrate how the effective implementation of 5G networks can boost key sectors such as smart agriculture, remote education, and advanced logistics. The creation of interactive digital twins has enabled real-time monitoring of parameters such as traffic flow, antenna status, and energy consumption, facilitating more efficient and sustainable resource management.

Funded by the EU, Next Generation funds, with aid granted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, within the framework of the UNICO 5G Sectoral program.
