The ACOPIAIA-Puertos 4.0 project (Algorithm for the Characterization, Optimization and Prediction of Environmental Impact based on Artificial Intelligence in Ports 4.0) presented by APTICA, has been a beneficiary, by Red.es, of the 2021 call for aid for projects research and development in artificial intelligence and other digital technologies and their integration into value chains.

The main objective of this project is the creation of a set of algorithms for the optimisation of port operations, based on the prediction of environmental impact, based on artificial intelligence technologies that operate on exhaustive and quantified data. This algorithm will serve as the basis for the development of scalable applications, which will also be prepared to share the information recorded and processed with external agents, through interfaces with Smart City platforms, open data and the Internet of Things (IoT).

To achieve these ambitious objectives, APTICA will combine its extensive knowledge of algorithms and artificial intelligence applied to communication technologies with that of two research groups at the Polytechnic University of Madrid: GB2S, specialising in Data Science; and GATV, an international exponent in vision and artificial intelligence. Likewise, there is an agreement with the Port Authority of Almeria, which will lend the port of Almeria for the initial data collection and validation in a relevant environment of the algorithm resulting from the project
