The temporary union of companies formed by TELECOM CLM, FURIOUS KOALAS and AMANTO SOLUCIONES TOLEDO, is named beneficiary of the Second Call for Grants for pilots projects on 5G Technologies, to carry out three use cases in the Community of Castilla-La Mancha. APTICA has been designated as Technical Office for the project.
APTICA has actively participated in the definition of an ecosystem of companies that are highly committed to innovation in the Community of Castilla – La Mancha, that has led to the possibility of developing different use cases for 5G technology included in the project presented by this region, which has finally been designated by RED.ES as a beneficiary of this second call.
The three use cases presented are the following:
- The first pilot it is related to healthcare, in which emergency unit doctors will have remote support by specialists, so they will be able to take care of patients in a better way and instantly. All of this will be possible thanks to augmented reality from the companies Furious Koala and SESCAM from Talavera. Them both will provide doctors the best tools for doing operations with the best accuracy possible.
- The use case for the audio-visual sector consists in the transmission of audio-visual signals from television cameras on the spot to the cloud using 5G. With all the data on the cloud, postproduction will be done and a live retransmission will be possible using the innovative 5G broadcasting techniques. The use case presented is possible thanks to the collaboration of RTVE as a content provider and other companies like BTESA, Watch iT and Universidad Politécnica de Valencia who have helped to achieve a successful 5G Pilot.
- The third use case consists in the creation of a digital hotel twin in which all hotel processes, like client service, maintenance or promotion can be done remotely. This pilot will be developed with the local company Amanto from the city of Toledo
In addition, within the temporary union of companies who obtained the grant for the development of use cases of 5G technology, APTICA together with ITECAM, act as the Technical Office, in charge of providing support to all members during the 30 months that this project lasts. The target of the project is testing the benefits that 5G provides (high capacity, low latency and massive device connectivity) and the so-called enabling technologies (Edge Computing, Network Slicing, Network Virtualization, etc.) in innovative use cases with a high disruptive component in sectors as diverse as tourism, health or media broadcasting.
