The Broadcast and Television Department of Junta de Extremadura, owner of a SIRENET license since 2004, has upgraded its license to the latest version of SIRENET.
Thanks to this update, among other things, it will be easier for the Broadcast and Television Department to study the influence of the LTE mobile stations over digital television coverage throughout the territory of the Community of Extremadura, because SIRENET 4.1 incorporates advanced calculation algorithms of LTE / LTE-A networks.
Additionally, SIRENET 4.1 incorporates many new features and improvements over previous versions, such as new broadcasting services and a calculator for obtaining the signal and interference (C/I) threshold based on user configured settings for each one of the specific parameters of the service.
On the other hand, Junta de Extremadura through the Broadcast and Television Department has also updated digital mapping, highlighting:
• Digital Terrain Model (DTM). Ground altitude from sea level.
• Clutter Layer. Information about the use of the terrain on each geographical zone (rural, vegetation, dense urban, residential urban, etc.)
• Administrative Layer. Information about the administrative unit to which every geographic point belongs to (town, municipality, region, country, etc.).
