INNOVATE! 100 PUBLISHES ITS ANNUAL LIST OF THE TOP 100 STARTUPS OF THE YEAR.

The final of the competition organized by the Fundación Zaragoza Ciudad del Conocimiento, was held last December 2nd, 2010 at the Teatro Principal de Zaragoza whose award was attended by the Honourable Mayor of the City D. Juan Alberto Belloch.

Innovate! 2010 is a global program, produced by Guidewire Group, which identifies and promotes leading-edge technologies and new media companies around the world.

Within this program, Innovate! 100 are responsible for conducting a global list of 100 best startups that show a high potential and faster growth. Over 30 Pitch Slam, events of competition between firms, have been organized in the five continents over the past 10 months with the participation of more than 300 companies.

The preparation of the list has taken into account a combination of companies assessment methodology based on analysis of the situation, the pace of growth and business potential of each one. The evaluation methodology, called “G/Score” ranks the firms according to seven factors: overall concept, market opportunities, competition, product development, business development, team and business model.

Innovate! 100 emphasizes that Intelia Consultores (now APTICA), is a new telecommunications company expert in the design, deployment and optimization of wireless networks, which just brought out the first professional tool for radio network planning on the Internet, using a model “pay per use”. XIRIO Online, is a revolution in the market for these kind of tools by allowing users to perform professional-level projects without having to buy their own tools and digital mapping.

Spanish companies

It is noteworthy that six of the twenty five best companies selected are Spanish: Anboto Group, winner of the best startup of the year, Intelia Consultores, FonYou, Homing.com, iFacturas (Spanish-Finnish) and Innovalle (Spanish-American), getting Intelia Consultores the eighth place in the world ranking and the second among the national ranking.
