Nokia Siemens Networks uses the web based radio planning tool Xirio-Online in order to plan a rural broadband network based on UMTS for the Galician regional government (Xunta de Galicia). The purpose is to provide data coverage in scattered locations that do not already have it.

This planning is carried out by teams located in different spanish cities and need access to a common workplace, a feature which is offered by Xirio-Online and for its use it is only necessary to have internet access.
